It's the end of the summer semester, and there's no time to write anything new this week. Instead, I'm sharing this video from the BBC series Fake or Fortune. A dashing international art dealer and a down to earth journalist use "old-fashioned detective work and state-of the art science" (as well as a healthy dose of dramatic editing) to separate the fake from the authentic in this long-running series. This episode considers two works purported to be by Gauguin...and Flowers and Fruit plays a critical role.
